Kampot (FN), Jun. 6 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said that no licenses will be granted for casino operations in Kampot and Kep provinces, except on Bokor Mountain and at the border.
The premier spoke on Thursday morning (Jun. 6) during an inauguration for the official use of Kampot multi-purpose port in Kampot province.
"In the past, there has been a question about the application for a license to open a casino in Kampot province. I would like to confirm that the previous casino licenses were only allowed at the border and there is only one on Bokor Mountain. Apart from these venues, no licenses have been issued for casinos in Kampot province," the premier underscored.
Samdech Thipadei continued, "In Kampot, we only have one on Bokor Mountain; we only granted a license for this one."
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei mentioned that Kampot and Kep provinces have potential for industry, manufacturing, agriculture, logistics and tourism.
Regarding the application for investment in opening a casino in Cambodia, the premier advised those who wish to invest in casinos to do so at the border.
