Battambang (FN), Jun. 5 – On 1 June, there was a donation event to support selected scholarship students who are from low-income family in order to keep them studying at public school even their families are in difficult situation. This meaningful event was held in Watkor Junior High School in Battambang province.

Cheang Bak Van Hong (here in after CBVH) donated USD 1,500 to Great Peace Cambodia (here in after GPC) as an one of part of CSR activities to enhance education opportunity to students who are from low-income families.

GPC has been implementing project to prevent drop-out by scholarship support and strengthen community participation under cooperation with Provincial Department of Education, Youth and Sports, Battambang province and 5 secondary schools in Battambang city and Bevel district, Battambang province since 2009.

In order to make a sustainable fundamental of community participation, GPC has been trying to enlarge CSR activities with local companies and shops.

CBVH participated as donor under its CSR activity to support rice and daily necessity to students and families to encourage their study by reduction of economic burden of families.

Jungho Lee, Country Director of GPC, extended sincere thanks and gratitude to CBVH. And he revealed that cooperation with local partners is very necessary and crucial for sustainable development and society. He hopes the precious participation and support of CBVH’s value CSR activities will be recognized and serve as an excellent model for more companies in the future to empower our children with dreams and hopes as well as creating positive changes in Cambodia.

Chan Sreypich, General Manager of CBVH Battambang branch also extended her exited impression to the donation and event and she also even share the encouraging messages to all students and guardians to keep children studying until graduate at least grade 12. She also motivated all students to keep on study and introduce job opportunities in the company as well.
