Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 4 – US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin expressed his desire to boost American investment in Cambodia.

Cambodian Senate President, Samdech Techo Hun Sen received a courtesy call by Lloyd Austin on Tuesday morning (Jun. 4) at the Senate.

During the meeting, Samdech Techo expressed his gratitude for the intentions of the US Secretary of Defence. He added that increasing economic and trade relations would support and strengthen the political sector. Samdech Techo also hoped that Lloyd Austin would encourage more American investors to come to Cambodia.

Both sides pledged to expand good relations between the two countries.

The United States is one of Cambodia's main trading partners. In the first four months of 2024, Cambodia-US trade volume reached more than USD 2.68 billion, an increase of 6.5 per cent.
