Phnom Penh (FN), May 30 – Verify.gov.kh, the Royal Government’s document verification platform developed by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, secured second place in the “Digital Service Design Prize 2024”, held at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) +20 Forum High-Level Event in Geneva, Switzerland.

The platform was selected to compete in the "WSIS Digital Service Design 2024" competition, which features 50 digital systems from around the world.

Verify.gov.kh has secured second place, just behind Uganda's UgPass, a digital identity and electronic signature platform. The platform was also honoured with a gold medal for public service at the 2024 ASEAN Digital Awards.

The WSIS +20 Forum, co-hosted by four UN specialised bodies, reviews global digital collaboration progress over the past two decades. About 500 high-level delegates from UN partners and approximately 160 countries, including 80 ministers and chief digital regulators, attended the forum.

The WSIS Digital Service Design 2024, organized by ITU and partner organizations, recognizes leading digital government services. These services prioritise people's needs, ease of use, and digital public infrastructure.
