Kampong Speu (FN), May 30 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged relevant ministries and institutions to utilise the Buddhist Cultural Centre to maximize its benefits for socioeconomic development.

The premier spoke on Thursday (May 30) during an inauguration of achievements in the Buddhist Cultural Center in Kampong Speu Province.

The premier highlighted its potential to attract cultural tourism, support education, promote social morality, and facilitate Buddhist practices.

“Besides joint conservation and development efforts, we shall further maintain this centre as a safe, pleasant, and attractive environment for cultural tourists, ensuring it provides maximum benefits to socioeconomic development, particularly, by attracting cultural tourism, given its suitability for education, the promotion of social morality, and the practice of Buddhist practices,” the premier underscored.

Taking this occasion, Samdech Thipadei urged the Ministry of Cult and Religion, along with other relevant ministries and institutions, to collaborate in establishing technical standards, forms, and standard of art for construction in the field of religion, ensuring compliance with rules that aim to preserve it as a valuable legacy for future generations of citizens.

The premier continued, relevant ministries and institutions, particularly the Kampong Speu administration, shall participate in the conservation and development of the natural environment in this centre. This includes maintenance, additional tree planting, and wildlife conservation.

The Buddhist Cultural Centre should adopt a specific strategy ensuring the effective management and development, serving the Buddhist, economic, social, and cultural interests of the nation, as well as upholding Cambodia's prestige on both national and international stages.
