Phnom Penh (FN), May 28 – The Third Ring Road, which connects National Road 4 to National Road 1, was named "Xi Jinping Boulevard."

The opening ceremony of "Xi Jinping Boulevard" held on Tuesday (May 28) under the presidency of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian.

"Xi Jinping Boulevard" has a total length of nearly 53 km, starting from National Road No. 4 at km 14+105, located in Chumpu Voan village, Sangkat Choam Chao 3, Khan Por Sen Chey, to National Road No. 1 at km 24+840, located in Sdao Kanleang village, Dei Edth commune, Kien Svay district, Kandal province.

Cambodia-China relations are long-standing and inseparable, characterized by mutual trust, especially political trust. China's assistance to Cambodia not only supports socioeconomic development but also strengthens Cambodia's political independence.

Belt and Road cooperation has significantly contributed to Cambodia's socioeconomic development. Major projects established include the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone, the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway, and Siem Reap Angkor International Airport. The Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway is also planned for future construction. To date, China has assisted in building nearly 4,000 kilometers of roads in Cambodia.

At the request of the Royal Government of Cambodia, China agreed to name the Third Ring Road, "Xi Jinping Boulevard," which holds great significance for Cambodia-China iron-clad relations.
