Phnom Penh (FN), May 20 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet underlined that all future leaders of Cambodia must refrain from engaging in political plans that promote undemocratic regime changes.
The premier spoke on Monday (May 20) at the conference on the “Future of Cambodia Without Genocide” at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC).
Samdech Thipadei underscored, "All future leaders of Cambodia must refrain from participating in political plans that promote undemocratic regime changes and must adhere to a sense of responsibility to safeguard peace."
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underlined that based on the principles embedded in its constitution and the United Nations Charter, Cambodia will continue to pursue an independent foreign policy grounded in law, fostering good relations and cooperation with all countries and international organisations.
In addition, Cambodia will continue to actively participate in promoting peace, stability, security, and prosperity in the region and the world.
Prime Minister Hun Manet added that Cambodia will defend itself against malicious fabrications aimed at tarnishing the country's reputation and against any attempts to drag Cambodia into geopolitical competition or turn it into a new Cold War battlefield.
