Seoul (FN), May 18 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his deep gratitude to the Daejoo KC Group for its investment in Cambodia and encouraged the company to expand its investment.
Samdech Thipadei received a courtesy call by Park Joo-bong, Chairman of the Daejoo KC Group, on 17 May 2024 in Seoul, South Korea.
Park Joo-bong stated that his company is conducting business in Cambodia through Camko Motor Co. Ltd., which supplies components and electronics, and operates an electronics assembly plant similar to the company's factory in Korea.
The chairman also informed Samdech Thipadei that the company contributes to the training of Cambodian engineers through skills training in Korea to meet the specific needs of factories in Cambodia.
The chairman also expressed his pleasure and congratulations that the Republic of Korea and Cambodia have elevated their bilateral relations to a "Strategic Partnership." He believes that this enhanced level of relationship will encourage many more investors and companies to explore potential opportunities in Cambodia and to continue and expand their investments.
On the occasion, Chairman Park Joo-bong also expressed his commitment to further strengthening the relationship between both countries.
For his part, Premier Hun Manet welcomed and was pleased to meet with the chairman and his delegation. He thanked Daejoo KC Group for its investment in Cambodia and for its contribution to training Cambodian engineers in the automotive sector.
At the same time, Samdech Thipadei also underlined that the Royal Government of Cambodia has launched several new initiatives to support the investment climate and maintain Cambodia's competitiveness. He added that Cambodia seeks to implement the "Korea Plus One" strategy through the production and supply of locally assembled electronic components.
Samdech Thipadei encouraged companies to consider expanding the supply chain to export and supply more products to factories and enterprises.
