Phnom Penh (FN), May. 7 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that the implementation of the National Single Window (NSW) system represents a significant contribution to enhancing the business environment and fostering business activities in Cambodia, thereby improving quality, transparency, and efficiency, as well as garnering trust from investors and businesspeople.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (May 7) during an official launching ceremony of National Single Window application at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

The application aims to bring public services closer to consumers through the utilisation of automation systems and technological advancements, streamlining procedures, reducing time, and associated costs, the premier added.

On that occasion, Samdech Thipadei underlined that economic diversification and increasing competitiveness were also clearly identified as a priority in the Pentagon Strategy-Phase I, focusing on improving the business environment that is conducive to doing business. Trade and investment through the revision and simplification of relevant procedures, digitalization of public service delivery and administration, institutional capacity building, and enhancing the effectiveness of inter-ministerial coordination.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet continued that this achievement as part of ongoing reforms and the modernisation of tax administration, aimed at enhancing revenue management efficiency, fostering fair competition in business and investment, and reducing the burden of tax compliance and procedures.

Samdech Thipadie added that this system, together with the customs data automation system, will streamline trade in Cambodia by transitioning from paper-based to paperless operations. It will serve as a crucial component of the digital business ecosystem, enhancing Cambodia's trade facilitation efficiency and effectiveness, while also fostering connectivity with the digital ecosystems of other businesses in the region and globally.

The Cambodia National Single Window (NSW) enables importers, exporters, and agents to apply for licenses, permits, certificates, and other documents (LPCO) through the online CNSW portal; relevant government agencies processes and approves these applications in the same portal.
