Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 25 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his delight at the widespread presence of traditional Khmer games during 2024 traditional New Year celebrations.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Apr. 25) during his gala dinner with artists at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Samdech Thipadei underscored, "I am delighted by the abundance of traditional games this Khmer New Year. Preparations to promote traditional games can be observed everywhere, in both districts and cities."

At the same time, Prime Minister Hun Manet underlined that the widespread promotion of traditional games signifies a revival and is a positive indication, serving as a necessary element in cultural preservation as people continue to support, utilise, and engage in these activities. The enthusiasm for participating in these popular games is commendable.

On the occasion, the premier also added that the preservation of culture is not the responsibility of any single individual; rather, it is a shared endeavour—culture for all and all for culture.
