Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 22 – Cambodian Delegate Minister Jean François Tan said that currently, Cambodia stands on equal footing for digital cooperation with its neighbouring and regional countries.
Delegate Minister Jean François Tan spoke at the press conference on Monday (Apr. 22) on the outcomes of Samdech Thipadei’s participation in the high-level opening of the eightieth session of the UN-ESCAP.
"Cambodia's capacity in the digital sector is not lower than that of its neighbouring and regional countries. Cambodia stands on equal footing for digital cooperation," the delegate minister underscored.
Jean François Tan said that during COVDID19 outbreak, all countries in the world were rapidly digitalised and Cambodia also developed its digital sector, including the establishment of digital information systems on vaccination as well as facilitation of trade in the new normal.
"Since then, Cambodia has strived to harness digital technology from the COVID19 era to the present, especially through digital revolution and the exchange of experiences with other countries in the region, to promote development strategies and launch new digital technologies and applications," the delegation minister added.
He noted that in present-day Cambodia, there is a noticeable increase in e-commerce and delivery services, accompanied by a swift rise in digital payments.
