Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 22 – After the Seventh Cambodia-China Intergovernmental Coordination Committee Meeting on Monday (Apr. 22), Cambodia and China signed three important documents contribute to the development of clean water and agricultural sectors in the kingdom.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi co-chaired the committee meeting with First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) Sun Chanthol at CDC.

The three important documents are as follow:

1. Exchange of Letters on the Provision of Assistance of the People's Republic of China for Rural Water Supply Phase II.

2. Handing-over certificate of the Cambodia Agricultural Development Master Plan.

3. The protocol regarding the production and sanitation requirements for semi-finished dog food products made from cowhide for export from Cambodia to China.

At the same time, the two sides also held a handover ceremony of the diary of the kingdom of Chenla about the territory, traditions and customs translated into Khmer language and a celebration of Cambodia's fresh coconut exports to China.

Wang Yi arrived in Phnom Penh on 21 April 2024 at 2:30 p.m. for an official visit to Cambodia from 21-23 April 2024.

The visit coincides with the Cambodia-China People-to-People Exchange Year and will contribute to further strengthening the ironclad friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation, deepening the building of a high-quality, high-level and high-standard Community with a Shared Future, promoting the Diamond Cooperation framework, and stimulating collaboration across regional and international platforms, thus mutually benefiting the two nations and peoples.
