Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 9 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted the crucial role of accurate data in formulating effective national plans, speaking on Tuesday morning (Apr. 9) during the closing 2023 annual meeting of the Ministry of Planning at the ministry.

"I agree with the Minister of Planning on the importance and indispensability of planning, statistics, population and development tasks. I would like to share my personal opinion by comparing the work of statistical planning to the tongue and teeth, which are indispensable and interdependent," the premier underscored.

The premier continued, "Accurate data helps us to set out the right plan; comprehensive data helps us to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the implementation of the nation's leadership. The nation's leadership requires a clear strategy; it does not base on imagination."

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei underlined the current reliance on science and the necessity of formulating long-term plans. It is crucial to compare the development of the economic sector with changes in global politics and national security, as these factors are fundamental to our nation's planning process, especially in the preparation of long-term strategic plans.
