Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 4 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced to promote the director of capital-provincial department to the director of the department.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Apr. 4) during the closing 2023 annual meeting of the Ministry of Civil Service at the Premier Centre Sen Sok.

Prior to the promotion, the directors of both capital-provincial departments held equivalent status to deputy directors of the department.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei underlined, "The pivotal agents for effective work implementation are the departments at the capital-provincial level, comprising a highly responsible workforce requiring increased support in terms of rights and resources. Our entitlements have already been established through decentralization and deconcentration, empowering grassroots ownership. Moreover, a significant portion of resources has also been directed towards the grassroots level.”

Samdech Thipadei continued that the promotion was intended as an incentive, particularly recognizing the increased responsibilities carried by capital-provincial departments.
