Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 2 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet unveiled the recent introduction of the Royal Government’s special program to promote investment in 2024 in Preah Sihanouk Province, speaking on Tuesday (Apr. 2) during the opening of Cambodia-ASEAN Business Summit 2024 at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra.
“The Royal Government has just introduced the “Special Program to Promote Investment in Preah Sihanouk Province 2024” to provide special benefits to investment in 2024 in Preah Sihanouk Province. This special program is one of the key steps to turn Preah Sihanouk province into a multi-purpose Special Economic Zone (SEZ), serving as a regional hub for manufacturing, trade, business, finance, and so on,” the premier underscored.
The Royal Government is also working on the re-design of SEZs to take into account diverse characteristics of industries, investors and SEZ developers, the premier added.

This special program applies to investment projects or business activities in 2024, located in Sihanoukvile Province, and focuses on the following three types of projects: (1) Investment projects or business activities related to unfinished buildings and will start implementation in 2024; (2) Investment projects or business activities that are not related to the unfinished buildings, but will immediately start operation in 2024; (3) Expansion of existing investment projects or business activities in accordance with the specific criteria and will begin in 2024.
