Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 26 – Cambodian Delegate Minister Jean François Tan stated that during a bilateral meeting with Laotian Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet requested the Lao side to explore the possibility of importing certain goods from Cambodia, particularly beverages.
Jean François Tan spoke during a press conference on Tuesday (Mar. 26) after Samdech Thipadei concluded his visit to Lao PDR.
Delegate Minister Jean François Tan underscored, "In order to increase the trade volume between Cambodia and Laos, we have asked our Laotian friends to consider importing some goods from Cambodia, such as beverages, which are high-potential and abundant in Cambodia."
At the same time, Jean François Tan stated that regarding trade boost, Prime Minister Hun Manet also urged his Laotian counterparts to explore the possibility of enhancing economic integration through trade in services, including financial services, transportation services, and tourism.
Prime Minister Hun Manet and his Laotian counterpart discussed the importance of organizing the 15th meeting of the Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC), reviving the Joint Trade Commission, holding business and investment forums, and expanding economic integration through trade in services such as financial services, transportation, and tourism.
