Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 21 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet underlined that persons with disabilities are not left isolated, highlighting that both Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Chairman of the Supreme Privy Council of the King and President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), and the Royal Government have consistently prioritized and supported them through the ongoing implementation of the Pentagonal Strategy Phase One.

The premier spoke on Thursday morning (Mar. 21) during the inaugurations of Techo Sen National Centre of Disabled Persons and the National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia in Phnom Penh.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his satisfaction in seeing persons with disabilities in Cambodia actively and fully participate in socio-economic activities in the kingdom, which reflects the ability and potential of people with disabilities in accordance with the slogan "being physically disabled, but not mentally disabled".

"I would like to encourage and affirm to you [persons with disabilities] that you are not isolated. As you can see, Samdech Techo, I, and the Royal Government have always regarded persons with disabilities as a potential human capital as clearly defined in the Pentagonal Strategy Phase One. This strategy focuses on building and developing human resources, including persons with disabilities," the premier underscored.

Taking this occasion, Samdech Thipadei pointed out that giving opportunities to persons with disabilities reflected the deep concern of the Royal Government, which has done since the previous mandates. Samdech Thipadei also praised the para-athletes who have diligently brought honour to the nation by winning medals in various sports competitions.
