Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 19 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that when entering medical school, one cannot ask for passing without taking the exam as success in this crucial assessment is imperative for aspiring medical professionals.
The premier spoke on Tuesday (Mar. 19) during the closing 2023 annual meeting of the Ministry of Health at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra.
Prime Minister Hun Manet stressed the critical importance of maintaining high standards in medical education, urging a strict adherence to quality both in the curriculum and in selecting students. He underscored that this approach ensures that those studying medicine, including military personnel, are fully equipped to serve as compassionate caregivers, committed to fulfilling their duties with integrity and skill, thereby safeguarding the well-being of those they treat.
Regarding practical skills, the premier warned that just as mishandling mines can lead to deadly consequences, a lack of proficiency in medical practice can have dire outcomes.
