Siem Reap (FN), Mar. 16 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet advised the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training to collaborate closely with the General Department of Immigration and border authorities to prepare for the return of Cambodian workers from Thailand to their hometowns during the upcoming Khmer New Year celebrations.

The premier spoke on Saturday (Mar. 16) at the opening ceremony of the 8th River Festival in Siem Reap Province.

"Yesterday, I advised Minister Heng Sour to work with the General Department of Immigration and authorities along the border provinces to warmly welcome our workers returning from Thailand to their hometowns during the New Year in any way possible," the premier underscored.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei unveiled that he had already discussed this matter with the Thai prime minister during his recent visit to Thailand. Consequently, the Thai counterpart agreed to allow Cambodian workers to travel to their hometowns during the traditional Khmer New Year without paying any fees.
