Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 15 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet encouraged people to check out open sources or contact the National Employment Agency (NEA) for job opportunities.
The premier spoke on Friday (Mar. 15) during a weekly cabinet meeting at the Peace Palace.
Samdech Thipadei underscored, "I acknowledge that there may be posts on social media highlighting closed factories, but it's important not to overlook the ones that are still operational. For instance, if we only hear about the closure of the Y&W Garment factory in Dangkor district, and the subsequent job losses, it may give a negative impression. However, it is essential to recognize that when one factory closes, others may face labour shortages, and new factories might open."
Regarding the closure of the factory in Dangkor district, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet noted that the Ministry of Labor, while addressing the situation and considering benefits for affected individuals, has also worked with the National Employment Agency (NEA) to swiftly provide job opportunities.
On the occasion, Premier Hun Manet urged those genuinely interested in understanding Cambodia's economic situation to gather comprehensive information before making public statements.
