Kandal (FN), Mar. 12 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his excitement upon personally seeing Cambodia’s largest airport, speaking on Tuesday morning (Mar. 12) during the inspection of the construction of Techo International Airport in Kandal Province.
Samdech Thipadei underlined that upon arrival and witnessing the new airport, he was deeply thrilled. Despite having visited many countries and seen numerous airports of similar calibre, he expressed pride in Cambodias' ownership of the airport.
Samdech Thipadei underscored, "Today, I came to see Techo International Airport. I felt excited even though the construction is not yet complete. Honestly, I was very thrilled. Just the day before, I attended the inauguration at our Siem Reap Angkor International Airport and felt excited then too. I have travelled to many countries and seen airports like this, but what truly fills me with pride and excitement is that this land is Khmer; it belongs to us."
The premier recalled Cambodia's first international flights launched 65 years ago in 1956, and now, Cambodia is set to open Techo International Airport in 2025, marking a significant milestone in the country's history.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also commended CAIC's efforts in constructing Techo International Airport, noting that despite the challenges posed by the COVID19 outbreak, construction persisted.
