Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 11 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet underlined that the number of mobile internet and mobile subscribers reached more than 19 million in 2023. In addition, the digital payments reached about USD 492 billion, equivalent to approximately 16 times of the kingdom’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The premier spoke on Monday (Mar. 11) during the opening ceremony of Digital Government Forum and Digital Technology Expo at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei added that in recent years, Cambodia has experienced remarkable strides in digitalization, with the COVID19 crisis acting as a catalyst for a more profound embrace of digital technology.
