Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 11 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet commended the remarkable progress of digitalisation in Cambodia, speaking on Monday (Mar. 11) during the opening ceremony of Digital Government Forum and Digital Technology Expo.

Samdech Thipadei mentioned that the COVID19 crisis was also a catalyst for accelerating the adoption of digital technology. The mobile internet subscribers and mobile subscribers reached to more than 19 million as of 2023.

"In recent years, Cambodia has experienced remarkable strides in digitalization, with the COVID19 crisis acting as a catalyst for a more profound embrace of digital technology,” the premier underscored.

According to Samdech Thipadei, digital payments reached about USD 492 billion by 2023, equivalent to approximately 16 times of the Gross Domestic Product.
