Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 7 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged the Ministry of Culture to regularly co-organise Cambodian annual cultural events abroad, and encouraged active participation of the Cambodian community.

The premier addressed the 26th Cambodian National Culture Day, held on Thursday (Mar. 7) at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Samdech Thipadei underscored, "The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts must continue to collaborate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, encouraging all Cambodian embassies and consulates abroad to regularly host Khmer annual cultural events to promote our national culture. This initiative aims to strengthen political, cultural, and diplomatic ties, while also encouraging the Cambodian community abroad to actively participate in organizing the National Cultural Day in a solemn and comprehensive manner."

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also expressed support for the collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and the Ministry of Information, which has significantly contributed to the remarkable growth of the Cambodian film industry. Notably, a prime-time slot has been designated for the broadcast of Khmer films. At the same time, the premier urged local authorities at all levels to cooperate in identifying suitable locations within their respective territories to facilitate the filming and production processes of Khmer films.
