Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 5 – The Siem Reap Provincial Administration issued a press release regarding a fire incident involving a 45-seat tourist car at the parking lot in front of Angkor Wat temple on Tuesday morning (Mar. 5) at 05:50 a.m.
Preliminary findings from the police indicated that the tourist car parked in the designated parking area before the incident occurred. The cause of the fire was determined to be related to the technical condition of the tourist car bearing license plate Phnom Penh 3E-4674. The fire subsequently spread to two other nearby vehicles. The Provincial Administrative Unity Command is working in conjunction with relevant ministries and institutions to investigate the incident further.
Fortunately, no tourists were injured from the incident. However, three vehicles were damaged, including two 45-seat tourist cars and one 24-seat tourist car. Additionally, two local residents sustained injuries.
The provincial administration urged both national and international media outlets, as well as the public, to refrain from disseminating speculative or unfounded information that could disrupt security, order, and socio-economic stability. Legal action will be taken against those found to be inciting harm through misinformation.
