Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 28 – Cambodian Prime Minister and leaders of 17 US-invested companies have expressed a desire to expand investment in Cambodia.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call from Brian D. McFeeters, Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director of the US-ASEAN Business Council, on Wednesday morning (Feb. 28).

Brian D. McFeeters and the delegation expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Hun Manet for allowing them to meet and discuss business matters. The senior vice president also commended the rapid progress in all areas of Cambodia.

Brian D. McFeeters also informed Samdech Thipadei that the US-ASEAN Business Council represents approximately 17 major companies operating in modern technology, social media, tourism, finance, energy, retail markets, and manufacturing insurance. These companies include FedEx Express, Pfizer, MasterCard, Visa Card, Meta (Facebook), ADM, Chevron, and Manulife. They expressed interest in expanding investment in Cambodia and requested further details about the Royal Government's investment policy.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet thanked the US-ASEAN Business Council for their interest in Cambodia and appreciated their investment in the country. He also praised the private sector for its contributions to socio-economic development and its role in promoting public-private partnerships.

The premier also briefed the US-ASEAN Business Council on the Royal Government's Pentagon Strategy-Phase I and the investment support policy framework, emphasizing Cambodia's favorable investment environment, which includes peace, political stability, social order, and incentives for investors. He also highlighted new initiatives such as specialized economic zones tailored to specific industries and country needs.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also encouraged the US-ASEAN Business Council to continue collaborating with Cambodian ministries, institutions, and stakeholders to develop and implement action plans for promoting private sector investment in Cambodia.
