Kuala Lumpur (FN), Feb. 27 – Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim held an official welcoming ceremony for the arrival of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet in Malaysia on Tuesday (Feb. 27).
At the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet is paying an official visit to Malaysia on 27 February 2024.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim will hold a bilateral meeting to discuss diverse dimensions of cooperation, including political-security, trade and investment, tourism, labour, halal food industry, ICT and digital technology, and energy security, aligning with reciprocal interest of both nations.
Accompanying Samdech Thipadei will be Cambodian First Vice-chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia Sun Chanthol, Cambodian Foreign Minister Sok Chenda Sophea, along with senior ministers, ministers, key government officials, and business leaders from the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce.
During the visit, Samdech Thipadei will be granted a Royal Audience by Malaysian King Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XVII Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar at the Istana Negara. Samdech Thipadei will also have meetings with President of the Senate YB Senator Datuk Mutang Tagal, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives Tan Sri Dato' Dr. Johari bin Abdul at the Parliament building.
Subsequently, the two prime ministers will also preside over the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between National Bank of Cambodia and Bank Negara Malaysia on Cooperation in Area of Financial Innovation and Payment Systems. During the visit, Samdech Thipadei will attend the Cambodia-Malaysia Business Forum, where he will deliver a keynote address and witness the signing of two MoUs covering trade cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce of two countries.
The upcoming official visit of Samdech Thipadei to Malaysia will contribute to further deepen the long-standing ties between Cambodia and Malaysia in bilateral and multilateral frameworks for the best interests of the two countries and the region.
