Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 24 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet outlined three key reforms for the Cambodian army to strengthen capacity, uphold the principles of nationalism, and enhance national prestige on the international stage.
The premier spoke on Wednesday (Jan. 24) at the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Cambodian Royal Army Command Headquarters.
On that occasion, the premier said that the new government has implemented a series of reforms aimed at enhancing the army's capabilities. The transformation of the Cambodian army into a modern and robust entity is crucial for safeguarding sovereignty, ensuring peace, upholding national independence, and fostering national development.

This unifying spirit is paramount and should be steadfastly adhered to at all stages, emphasizing the importance of avoiding division.
Samdech Thipadei continued, beyond fortifying the spirit, it is imperative to enhance the capabilities of the national army to ensure the successful execution of all tasks for the motherland. Strengthening the various facets of our army signifies reinforcing its independence and sovereignty in all domains, constituting a comprehensive reform grounded in the spirit of nationalism.
At the same time, premier Hun Manet also asked the army command to focus on strengthening military diplomacy by fostering cooperation through joint training and exercises with partner nations.
