Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 23 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet mentioned the importance of journalists' ethics and professionalism in upholding the values of journalism.
The premier spoke on Tuesday (Jan. 23) during the closing of annual meeting of the Ministry of Information at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.
"The ethics and professionalism of media outlets and journalists are crucial for establishing and maintaining professional values," the premier underscored.
Samdech Thipadei continued to highlight the crucial role journalists play in the information sector, emphasizing the need for media outlets and journalists to handle this responsibility with care.
Furthermore, Premier Hun Manet pointed out that any wrongdoing by media outlets and journalists could diminish their value, risking the credibility and recognition of the information they provide.
According to the premier, the Cambodian press has witnessed significant growth, with nearly 10,000 registered and unregistered journalists, the majority of whom have demonstrated excellent performance and acted responsibly.
