Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 22 – Australian Ambassador to Cambodia Justin Kevin Whyatt expressed his commitment to foster stronger Cambodia-Australia cooperation, speaking in a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on Monday (Jan. 22) at the Peace Palace.

On the occasion, Justin Kevin Whyatt expressed gratitude to Samdech Thipadei for the opportunity to pay a courtesy call and extended congratulations on the success of Samdech Thipadei's official visit to the Republic of France and the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The ambassador also reaffirmed the Australian Government's commitment to strengthening collaboration between the two countries.

The partnership between Cambodia and Australia is expected to flourish in various areas, particularly in the fields of economy, investment, trade, health, education, agriculture, environment, climate change, and defence capacity building.

In response, Samdech Thipadei welcomed Justin Kevin Whyatt and his delegation, expressing gratitude for Australia's ongoing support and assistance in Cambodia's socio-economic development, spanning from the pursuit of peace to the present. At the same time, Samdech Thipadei also briefed the ambassador on the Royal Government of Cambodia's Pentagon Strategy-Phase I, especially the appeal of Cambodia's Investment Law and the government's incentive policies for investors, ensuring a predictable and realistic investment environment.

Before concluding the meeting, Samdech Thipadei and Justin Kevin Whyatt discussed various regional and international issues, aiming to enhance the common interests of Cambodia and Australia. Both leaders acknowledged the potential for increased collaboration and a strengthened role in regional and global forums.
