Paris (FN), Jan. 19 – France and Cambodia expressed satisfaction in deepening bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries, according to the Joint Declaration of the Dialogue between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and French President Emmanuel Macron on 18 January 2024 in Paris, France.

France and Cambodia expressed satisfaction in deepening bilateral defence cooperation including de-mining training for Cambodian troops and French-language training for the United Nations peacekeepers. This cooperation shows a clear-shared commitment to operations to maintain international peace and security, as reflected by Cambodia’s support for training Ukrainian de-miners for humanitarian purposes.

The two sides expressed expectations that talks to update the intergovernmental agreement on bilateral defence cooperation would be completed soon.
