Davos (FN), Jan. 17 – Swiss Bühler Group promised to bring cutting-edge technology to further develop Cambodia’s agricultural sector.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Grains & Food of Bühler Group Mary Akinyi Olwal on Wednesday (Jan. 17) in Davos, Switzerland. 

During the meeting, Mary Akinyi Olwal thanked Samdech Thipadei for taking the time to allow her and her delegation to pay a courtesy call. She briefed Samdech Thipadei on the progress of the Bühler Group's business activities in Cambodia over the past few years.

She conveyed the company's keen interest in expanding its investment by introducing cutting-edge technology to enhance Cambodia's agricultural sector, covering aspects from planting and harvesting to processing for export.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underscored that the seventh-mandate Royal Government remained committed to prioritizing the agricultural sector, offering financial support to boost production, stabilize agricultural prices, and deploying agricultural technical officers across all communes engaged in agricultural activities nationwide.

Samdech Thipadei warmly welcomed the company's commitment to expanding and introducing new technologies to enhance Cambodia's agricultural production, human resource development, and long-term storage of agricultural products.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei urged the company to work closely with relevant ministries and institutions, particularly the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, to support and promote research and development initiatives in the agricultural sector.
