Davos (FN), Jan. 17 – Lippo Group, a major Indonesian corporation, is seeking investment opportunities in Cambodia's health and real estate sectors.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lippo Group Indonesia James Riady on Wednesday (Jan. 17) in Davos, Switzerland.
During the meeting, James Riady thanked Samdech Thipadei for taking the time to allow him and his delegations to pay a courtesy call. He also congratulated Samdech Thipadei on his appointment as Cambodian Prime Minister.
James Riady briefed Samdech Thipadei on Lippo Group's business operations across various countries in the region and around the world, focusing on real estate, retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, journalism, digital telecommunications, and finance. He conveyed the company's interest in investing in Cambodia's health and real estate sectors, with a focus on providing quality healthcare services at affordable prices and contributing to low-cost housing development.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed the CEO and his delegation, expressing gratitude for Lippo Group's interest in investing in Cambodia. He underscored that based on the company's experience as well as the similarities of the traditional culture and marketing style of Cambodia and Indonesia, the company will be able to better understand the opportunities of expanding the investment market in Cambodia.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also informed the CEO about the policies of the Royal Government of Cambodia. In particular, the Pentagon Strategy-Phase I, which focuses on human resource development with a focus on health, education, digital technology and other priority areas.
In addition, Samdech Thipadei also underlined the policy and encouragement for foreign investors and encouraged Lippo Group to explore collaboration with local investment companies to expand investments in various sectors within Cambodia.
