Koh Kong (FN), Jan. 8 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet asked three questions to the three-generation traitor Sam Rainsy and his followers who criticised the January 7 Victory Day, speaking during the premier's meeting with about 11,000 workers in Koh Kong province on Monday (Jan. 8).
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet's questions came after Sam Rainsy posted on social media claiming that January 7 marks the day Cambodia lost its sovereignty, its sea territory, and particularly Koh Tral.
Samdech Thipadei asked three questions as follow:
Firstly, from 17 April 1975 to 7 January 1979, did the Khmer Rouge kill the innocent people in Cambodia? How many millions of people died? In this context, Samdech Thipadei underlined that the citizens who survived the Khmer Rouge regime were witnesses. The citizens nationwide are already aware of the sad tragedy.
Secondly, the premier asked, could the overthrow of the Khmer Rouge Genocidal Regime in 1979 save lives, as the Khmer Rouge had fled and were no longer killing people?
The premier continued, thirdly, why did we seek support from Viet Nam? Samdech Thipadei explained that in the late 1970s, Cambodia had only two choices: to rely on those in the West or those in the East. The United Nations (UN) represented the West, while Viet Nam represented the East. However, Cambodia had no alternative but to seek help from Viet Nam, as there was no legal framework for the UN to intervene in Cambodia.
