Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 22 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet directed state institutions to streamline and simplify processes for private sector businesses. The state should actively facilitate and create avenues for the private sector, ensuring ample opportunities for their participation.
The premier spoke on Friday (Dec. 22) at the closing of annual meeting of the Ministry of Commerce.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underlined that, "Please review the campaign organization to encourage participation. It is crucial to have the private sector involved. Ease requirements, conditions, legal standards, or procedures that create difficulties for the private sector. Do not make it overly complicated.”
In addition, the premier instructed the Ministry of Commerce to enhance the governance of private sector development by making efforts to develop legal documents related to the management of private enterprise associations.
At the same time, it is necessary to enhance the management of domestic and international trade by strengthening, improving, and enacting laws, regulations, and ethics related to corporate governance, private companies and enterprises, encouraging competition, fostering consumer protection, and improving food safety to maintain the health, safety, and well-being of consumers by ensuring a fair and equitable business environment.
In this regard, Samdech Thipadei urged the strengthening of measures to prevent the influx of illegal goods, damaged or poor-quality goods, and trade that goes against the rule of law.
Premier Hun Manet continued, this undertaking holds great importance, and the partnership formula between the state and the private sector is something that the seventh-mandate Royal Government must actively promote.
