Tokyo (FN), Dec. 17 – Cambodian, Lao and Vietnamese prime ministers continued discussions on promoting the "Three Countries, One Destination" tourism policy and improving the living standards of people along the border.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet had a working breakfast with Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam on Sunday (Dec. 17) in Tokyo, Japan.
It has nearly become a tradition for the leaders of Cambodia, Laos, and Viet Nam to convene at both regional and global gatherings, engaging in breakfast meetings and business discussions in order to strengthen friendship, solidarity and good cooperation.
In this breakfast meeting, the three leaders commended the tripartite discussions for upholding the longstanding friendship and fostering deeper cooperation among the three countries. This collaboration spans various sectors and levels, encompassing areas including energy, connectivity, the continued advancement of trade and investment relations, the promotion of the Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam trilateral tourism package, “Three Countries, One Destination", and noteworthy efforts to enhance the well-being of the people.
Regarding collaboration in the fields of defense and security, the three leaders reached a consensus to persist in organizing joint trilateral exercises and collaborative endeavors to combat various forms of transnational crime. They also committed to addressing challenges jointly to safeguard peace, stability, and security which is crucial for advancing the development of Cambodia, Laos, and Viet Nam.
