Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 11 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and a high-level delegation returned home safe after concluding a fruitful visit to Viet Nam on 11-12 December 2023 at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
During the visit, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held a bilateral meeting, aimed at further enhancing and expanding the wide-ranging areas of cooperation, including education, trade, investment, connectivity, tourism, culture, security, defense and border affairs, among others.
The two prime ministers also witnessed the signing of several agreements, and co-presided over the Cambodia-Viet Nam Trade and Investment Promotion Forum.
Samdech Thipadei paid separate courtesy calls on Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, Vo Van Thuong, President of Viet Nam, and Vuong Dinh Hue, President of the National Assembly of Viet Nam. Samdech Thipadei also receive courtesy calls by Nguyen Thi Thang, chairwoman of the Cambodia-Viet Nam Friendship Association, and Bui Quang Huy, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Hun Manet also met with the leaders of six major Vietnamese companies, including Tao Duch Thang, CEO of Viettel, Nguyen Thanh Hung, Founder of Sovico Group and CEO of Vietjet Group, Tran Cong Kha, Chairman of Vietnam Rubber Enterprise (VRG), Phan Duc Tu, Chairman of the Board of Investment and Development Bank of Vietnam (BIDV), Tra Ba Duong, Chairman of TRUONG HAI GROUP CORPORATION (THACO), Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman and CEO of VINGROUP.
Samdech Thipadei also delivered a keynote address on economic development policy of the Cambodian Government, and economic relations between Cambodia and Viet Nam at the Foreign Trade University in Ha Noi.
The official visit of Samdech Thipadei to Viet Nam signified a further deepening of the long-standing relationship based on the spirit of "Good Neighbourliness, Traditional Friendship, Comprehensive Cooperation, and Long-term Stability between Cambodia and Viet Nam" for the mutual benefit of the two nations.
