Hanoi (FN), Dec. 11 – General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Nguyen Phu Trong underlined that the official visit of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet to Viet Nam signified a further deepening of Cambodian-Vietnamese bilateral relations.

Nguyen Phu Trong received a courtesy call by Samdech Thipadei on Monday (Dec. 11) during the latter’s visit to Viet Nam.

During the meeting, Nguyen Phu Trong welcomed the first official visit of Prime Minister Hun Manet and a high-level delegation of the Royal Government of Cambodia to Viet Nam. The general secretary congratulated Samdech Thipadei on his recent election as the vice president (CPP) of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP).

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong highly commended the Royal Government led by the CPP for achieving numerous accomplishments and continuous development in all areas. Additionally, the general secretary expressed optimism that under the wise leadership of premier Hun Manet, Cambodia will continue to develop more vigorously, and the living standards of the Cambodian people will improve and prosper.

In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his delight at paying a courtesy call on Nguyen Phu Trong once again, following their previous meeting in 2019. He conveyed warm regards from Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Chairman of the Supreme Privy Council to the king, and expressed gratitude to Nguyen Phu Trong for the congratulations extended on the occasion of his recent election as VP of the CPP Central Committee.

On the occasion, the premier also recalled several official visits to Viet Nam during his tenure as Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Youth Leader of the Central Cambodian People's Party, with many fruitful results. In particular, increasing cooperation in human resource education and training.

Samdech Thipadei also underlined that the Royal Government of the seventh mandate will continue to implement the policies of the CPP in a consistent and sustainable manner, and through this policy, the Cambodian-Vietnamese relations will continue to be nurtured in the spirit of traditional friendship, both within the bilateral framework and mutual support in multilateral forums, as well as strengthening new potential areas.
