Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 11 – Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) underlined three important tasks, according to the spokesman of the CPP Sok Eysan in a press conference after the Extraordinary Congress of the CPP on 10 December 2023.

The tasks are as follow:

1. Collaborate for peace, political stability, and the enduring success of critical initiatives for the nation and its people. The primary focus is on safeguarding Cambodia's unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and social security.

2. Endeavor to uphold macroeconomic stability and safeguard Cambodia's currency stability, even in the face of external influences.

3. Safeguard and enhance all accomplishments and reinforce the achievements of the national society in alignment with the objectives of the Pentagon Strategy-Phase I of the seventh-mandate Royal Government.

It should be noted that the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Cambodian People's Party was held on 9-10 December 2023. In this congress, the 44th Central Committee elected Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet as the Vice President of the Party, and 23 additional members of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee. The Congress also elected 496 additional members of the Central Committee, bringing the total number of Central Committee members to 1,312.
