Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 5 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet affirmed that the new National Social Assistance Program guidelines, part of the existing Family Package program, also offers fundamental support to all families holding ID Poor cards, taking into consideration family members living with HIV/AIDS.

The premier spoke on Tuesday morning (Dec. 5) at the official launching of the new guidelines at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

It should be noted that the new Family Package social assistance program will provide monthly cash payments to vulnerable families in several categories, including pregnant women and children under two years old, people with disabilities, people aged 60 and older and people living with HIV. It will also provide scholarships to underprivileged students from grades 1 to 12.

Samdech Thipadei underscored that, "Beyond these four programs, the family package extends basic support to all impoverished families and offers assistance to individuals living with HIV/AIDS experiencing poverty. The objective is to address the diverse needs throughout the life cycle and provide comprehensive solutions to various risks and vulnerabilities."

On the occasion, the premier continued that the Royal Government is committed to enhancing the implementation of the Family Package of the National Social Assistance Program by strengthening the referral system and network to connect with other services and programs, ultimately expanding the reach of the social protection system.

Please be informed that the new National Social Assistance Program, as part of the family package, will provide a monthly cash payment of 28,000 Riels to individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
