Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 4 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged active involvement of the private sector, civil society, factories, enterprises, and all institutions in responsibly implementing and fulfilling the obligation to recruit Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). This commitment aligns with the provisions outlined in the Law on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The premier spoke on Monday morning (Dec. 4) during the celebration of the 25th National and 41st International Day of PWDs at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center, Phnom Penh.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei advised all ministries, institutions, and the private sector to promote PWDs with the qualifications and abilities to undertake their duties and responsibilities. These individuals should be given opportunities in various positions without discrimination, including roles as civil servants, workers, or interns.

Additionally, Samdech Thipadei underlined the importance of the private sector, civil society, factories, enterprises, and all institutions in taking responsible actions by recruiting PWDs.
