Kep (FN), Dec. 3 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted the success of the 2023 Sea Festival in attracting a substantial number of tourists over the three-day event.
The premier spoke at the closing ceremony of the 10th Sea Festival, the 3rd round held on Sunday (Dec. 3) in Kep province.
"According to the report from Tourism Minister Sok Soken and the provincial governor, we welcomed almost 46,000 participants on the first day and over 120,000 on the second day. This is a proud achievement. This year, we had nearly 500 booths, breaking the previous record for the Sea Festival," the premier underscored.
Samdech Thipadei continued that it was his first time attending both the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2023 Sea Festival. He extended gratitude to the inter-ministerial working group, relevant institutions, and especially the citizens and tourists who participated in the festival.
"Although we cannot control the weather, the rain proved to be only a minor disturbance and not an obstacle for the government's development. In fact, the entire process of the 3rd round of the 2023 Sea Festival in Kep province ran smoothly," the premier underlined.
Taking this opportunity, Samdech Thipadei urged citizens to prioritize peace to ensure the nation's continuous development in all sectors, including tourism, adding that without peace, visiting Kep at this time would be a daunting prospect.
