Kampong Chhnang (FN), Nov. 22 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called on citizens to strictly obey traffic laws and avoid exceeding weight limits.

The premier spoke on Wednesday (Nov. 22) during an inauguration for the official use of National Road No. 5 from Prek Kdam to Battambang and groundbreaking for the construction from Serei Sophorn to Poipet.

Samdech Thipadei also appealed to truck drivers to actively participate in preventing overweight transport and to regularly get technical inspection of their vehicles.

In the first semester of 2023, at least 1,548 traffic accidents reported nationwide, resulted in 756 deaths and 2,072 injuries.
