Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 21 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet considered the election a contract between the people and the political parties, adding that the decision of the people to vote for the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) to lead the country is a clear judgment.
The premier spoke on Tuesday morning (Nov. 21) during his 10th meeting with workers, held in Por Senchey district, Phnom Penh.
"Therefore, we should continue to develop collaboratively. The election is akin to a contractual agreement because, before the election, citizens witnessed political parties clearly outlining their policies. Rest assured, the CPP will not break the promises. We are transparent and committed to delivering on our promises to serve the citizens," the premier underlined.
According to reports, the provisional voter turnout during the 2023 Cambodia general election reached 84.59%. The CPP secured 120 seats, while the FUNCINPEC won five seats.
