Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 21 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged the people to collaborate and have faith in the Royal Government led by the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) in nation-building, speaking on Tuesday (Nov. 21) during his 10th meeting with workers, held in Por Senchey district, Phnom Penh.
Samdech Thipadei underlined that during the previous general election, more than eight million out of over nine million registered voters went to the polls.
The premier added, "Elections are the democratic means through which our nation maintains stability and selects its leaders. In this sense, people have expressed confidence in the CPP. This confidence is built upon the CPP's ongoing work, particularly under the decades-long leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and the party."
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei continued that despite the appeals of extremist opposition leaders, the people made their decision through voting, rejecting calls to abstain or destroy ballots. Cambodian citizens have the right to independently judge, and their vote at that time was a clear expression of continued support for the CPP to lead the country.
