Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 17 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet extended his appreciation to China for providing the Morodok Techo National Stadium, a crucial contribution that enabled Cambodia to successfully host the 32nd SEA Games and 12th ASEAN Para Games.
The premier spoke during the celebration party of the 2023 SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games, held on Friday (Nov. 17) at the Morodok Techo National Stadium, Phnom Penh.
"Our ability to host the 32nd SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games owes much to the Morodok Techo National Stadium. This stadium is an initiative of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Importantly, without the assistance from China, such grand events would not have been possible," the premier underscored.
On behalf of the Royal Government, Samdech Thipadei thanked the Chinese government and the people for considering Cambodia as an ironclad friend and a comprehensive strategic partnership. The gratitude extended to China for consistently providing various forms of assistance contributing to the kingdom's socioeconomic development across diverse sectors, including sports.
Taking this opportunity, Samdech Thipadei also thanked to all friendly countries that supported Cambodia, both technically and across sectors. Additionally, appreciation was extended to the ASEAN countries that sent athletes and professional teams, fostering a spirit of friendship and high cooperation to ensure the successful execution of these sports events.
