Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 17 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet approved a proposal from Education Minister Hang Chuon Naron, allowing SEA Games medalists to automatically pass the Grade 12 national examination.

The premier spoke during the celebration party of the 2023 SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games, held on Friday (Nov. 17) at the Morodok Techo National Stadium, Phnom Penh.

"Tonight, Education Minister Hang Chuon Naron sought my approval for the 26 athletes who secured gold, silver, and bronze medals at the 32nd SEA Games to receive an automatic pass for the Grade 12 examination. I have promptly endorsed this request, recognizing it as a well-deserved reward for their dedicated efforts in bringing honor to our nation. Similar gestures were extended by Samdech Techo Hun Sen to eight athletes during the 31st SEA Games," the premier underlined.

It should be noted that the Grade 12 examination took place on 6-7 November 2023, with a total of 137,412 candidates, of which 73,278 were females. As per the schedule, the examination results will be announced on 28 November 2023 in Phnom Penh and Kandal province. The remaining provinces will receive their results on 29 November 2023.
