Siem Reap (FN), Nov. 16 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet continued to extend a warm welcome to Chinese tourists to visit Cambodia, especially to Siem Reap province through the new Siem Reap Angkor International Airport.
The premier spoke on Thursday (Nov. 16) during an inauguration for the official launch of Siem Reap Angkor International Airport in Siem Reap province.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underlined that the Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI) holds an estimated value of USD 1.1 billion. The airport is another great achievement on the territory of Siem Reap, serving as a pivotal economic hub for Cambodia's flourishing tourism industry. It has become an important air link between Siem Reap and other areas in Cambodia, as well as other potential tourist destinations.
"At the Third Belt and Road Forum in Beijing last month, President Xi Jinping and I jointly declared 2024 as a year of people-to-people exchanges between Cambodia and China. In this regard, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Chinese tourists to visit Cambodia, especially through Siem Reap Angkor International Airport”, Samdech Thipadei underscored.
Premier Hun Manet added that Cambodia is ready to work with China to participate in enhancing the role of this driving force and anticipates that with the implementation of the diamond hexagon cooperation framework between Cambodia and China, both countries will achieve more fruitful achievements, especially in the priority areas that will bring mutual benefits.
At the same time, Samdech Thipadei expressed his deep gratitude to the Government and the people of China, who have consistently supported Cambodia's socio-economic development, especially the investment in the new airport, which will become a great human heritage for Cambodia.
