Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 15 – Norea City, a satellite city developed by Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation (OCIC), is estimated to be completed by 2025, with the OCIC spending over USD 300 million in the project to date.

Oknha Pung Kheav Se, chairman and board of director for OCIC, spoke on Wednesday (Nov. 15) during an inauguration of the Koh Norea bridge under the presidency of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.

He stated, "from project initiation to the present, the company has spent over USD 300 million, with additional expenditures expected to reach hundreds of millions of dollars.”

"Despite the challenging backdrop of the global COVID19 pandemic coinciding with the commencement of the Koh Norea satellite city and twin dragon bridges construction, Oknha Pung Kheav Se acknowledged the significant impact on various sectors, including the construction industry. However, he credited the Royal Government's focused efforts, guided by the clear and wise leadership of Samdech Techo, in implementing effective measures to combat and control the pandemic, including a widespread vaccination campaign for the public and workers. As a result, the Koh Norea satellite city development project has progressed according to schedule, with the added achievement of potentially completing the construction of the Koh Nora and Koh Nora twin dragon bridges ahead of the initially projected timeline.

Norea City is a satellite city developed by OCIC, with a budget of more than $2.5 billion. Norea City is located within the heart of the Capital city, Phnom Penh, developed on 125 hectares of land. Our goal for the investment and development is to create a center for international and national commercial hub including luxury residential area. The most iconic landmark of the city is the 555-meter skyscraper facing the Mekong River and Bassac River.
