Kampong Speu (FN), Nov. 10 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that the Royal Government of Cambodia will modernise three key pillars in the field of national defense to strengthen the capacity of the Cambodian armed forces.

The premier spoke at the celebration of the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the Special Forces Command, held on Friday (Nov. 10) in Kampong Speu province.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underscored that the Royal Government of Cambodia is aiming to modernise three vital pillars, including infrastructure, training, and equipment.

For structural modernisation, it is necessary to regularly evaluate and revise the structure to respond to current and future task requests. Above work requires all national institutions, especially the security forces, to continue to pay attention to assessing and adjusting the structure.

For training modernisation, it is essential to prioritize the strengthening of schools, training programs, and facilities, including training grounds. Having human resources without real skills will not ensure operational readiness and responsiveness. Therefore, training should be given more attention.

For equipment modernisation, additional equipment must be provided to assist in the rescue operation in the event of a disaster.

It should be informed that Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet has been gradually introduced and implemented the national defense modernisation since he was the Commander of the Army, including the strengthening of professional training and advancement of the equipment as well.

Samdech Thipadei affirmed the unwavering commitment of the seventh-mandate Royal Government in upholding independence, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The current focus remains devoted to safeguarding the hard-earned peace, and prioritizing the "protect to develop, develop to protect" strategy.
